Fried Whole Green Plantain

Ingredients

Directions
1. Peel the green plantains by cutting off the ends and carefully slicing the skin lengthwise. Use your fingers or a spoon to separate the peel from the flesh.

2. In a skillet or deep frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.

3. Carefully place the whole plantains into the hot oil and fry for about 3–4 minutes per side, or until lightly golden.

4. Remove from the oil and place on a cutting board or flat surface. Using a flat-bottomed bowl or plate, press each plantain to flatten them slightly without breaking them apart.

5. Return the flattened plantains to the hot oil and fry again for 2–3 minutes per side, until crispy and golden brown.

6. Remove and place on paper towels to drain. Immediately season with Cool Runnings Garlic Pepper & Herbs Seasoning and a pinch of sea salt.

7. Serve hot with a side of Cool Runnings Hot Pepper Sauce or avocado slices.
