- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup yellow cornmeal
- ⅔ cup white sugar
- 3 ½ teaspoons British Class baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- ⅓ cup vegetable oil
- 1 large egg
1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F and lightly grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
2. Whisk flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder, sand salt together in a large bowl. Add the milk, vegetable oil, and egg; whisk until all is well combined. Pour batter into the prepared pan.
3. Bake in the oven for 20 - 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the pan comes out clean.
